DeNoise

This is a follow up to the Sharpening post from yesterday. Right after you sharpen your RAW image, the next step should be to denoise. This can be done now in Lightroom and I may say it is pretty good. First sharpen your image. If you watch the YouTube link from yesterday’s post, there is a great tool in this module, the Masking slider. The masking will show what is being sharpened. Then, his the Denoise and you are then free to do any other editing.

You can skip the Lr Denoise if you want to use something like Topaz Denoise AI. Also a great tool. Another feature in this program is it can add a little sharpening back..

I’ve compared these methods to each other and found them to be similar but you also can try it out. It seems to me that Adobe finds the best plugins and includes a similar feature in Lightroom. It is getting better all the time.
